With no wind and a beautiful day to be outside we took the opportunity to add a coat of varnish to all of our boats woodwork.
The harbour at Kilmore Quay was a bustle of activity with weekend boaters launching their craft and the local kids jumping in off the harbour wall, so it was great just people watching.
Joes relatives are in Wexford and we were invited to a 21st party for the evening which was great fun. Although they must have had a problem with drunk driving, as we were stopped by police on the way home, and Joe’s Aunt, the driver, was breathalised. Apparently this is common due to the number of smaller villages in the vicinity, but for me was a first. I knew she hadn’t been drinking all evening, but I still broke out in a nervous sweat.
