Leading Edge Inflatable (LEI)
A style of kite where the shape, usually making a “C”, is formed by a tube pumped with air along the front of the kite.
Overfalls
Large disturbed waves caused by the tide running over underwater rocky outcrops
Phytophotodermatitis
A type of skin burn, commonly associated with squeezing citrus then going in the sun. However after peeling parsnips on Christmas Eve and going straight after for a kite, we discovered it can also be caused by parsnips.
Spinnaker
A sail used when sailing downwind. Often made of light-weight brightly coloured material.
Twin tip (Board)
A type of board, similar to a wake-board or snowboard, also know as a free-style board. Most kiters learn to use this board first, before learning how to use a foil board.
